North Star Candle Co.

After getting married and having our first daughter, Natalia, I was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom, but felt the need to do something more, something creative. After looking into countless different projects I came across candle making and decided to make some as Christmas gifts in 2012. It was important that the candles had to be eco-friendly, renewable, reusable, and sourced from US products. I also wanted to have more of a modern contemporary look rather than the usual soy candles you see everywhere made in a mason jar. The feedback we got was amazing and they couldn’t get enough. Soon after, word spread and many people inquired about buying our candles. Over the next few months, we refined and perfected our process, and started attending local craft shows and Farmers markets. Our candles where a hit and flew off the shelves! Little did we know that what started as a hobby would soon bloom into a prosperous booming business. Six years, another beautiful daughter, Scarlett, and two cats (Ginger and Kodi) later we have received the 2018 City’s Best Award for Candles and a Proud to Manufacture in Michigan award from Pure Michigan® and are growing stronger than ever!
